Last week, as many listeners have heard, RAAA announced a historic re-brand of the Feeder Calf Certification Program to Angus Access.  On this episode, we welcome Jeananne Drouhard, RAAA Value-Added Department Team Lead, and Rob Hess, Area VII Northeast Director and 2nd Vice President, to take a look behind the curtain of the Rebrand.  Both Jeananne and Rob, amongst others, were key members of the team that helped make this change take place.  Take a listen as Jeananne gives a look into the history of the Feeder Calf Certification Program, discusses the changes in the program, and provides details on EIDs.  Rob gives insight into the RAAA Board's vision with this change and how this follows the RAAA Strategic Plan and Core Principals.  Please review the links below for additional information on Angus Access and as always, please do not hesitate to contact RAAA's Value-Added or Commercial Marketing Department with any questions on Angus Access!

We are back into our normal content schedule with "Red Angus Remarks".  This week, Cory and Taylor give updates to activities over their recent activities.  Cory gives insight to his recent feedyard visits and video sale attendance, while Taylor gives insight to last week's Red Angus Youth Expo, which was held in Springfield, MO.  Also, Cory and Taylor give an exciting announcement for a new opportunity for Red Angus breeders', including both commercial and seedstock.  Be sure to tune in to hear the announcement and stay tuned for more information!

The week of June 8th is the week of the annual BIF Research Symposium and Convention, set to be held in Amarillo, TX.  This week on the podcast, we have the honor to have on Sarah Jones of Red Hill Farms of Lafayette, TN.  Red Angus Breeder, Red Hill Farms received the 2024 BIF Seedstock Producer of the Year.  Sarah gives us insight to the history of Red Hill Farms and their involvement in the seedstock business, amongst other enterprises of their multi-generational family operation.  We learn about the crucial role that BIF has played in Jones' family over the years and also spend some time discussing generational transitions of farming operations.  Join us as we celebrate Red Hill Farms.  Follow the links below to learn more about Red Hill Farms and the Beef Improvement Federation.

On this episode of Red Angus Remarks, we welcome Dr. Charley Martinez of the University of Tennessee to the podcast.  Taylor first heard Dr. Martinez speak at 2024 Beef Improvement Federation Symposium and was very intrigued with the information was shared regarding how bull buyers utilize EPD's when making bull purchasing decisions.  Dr. Martinez have utilized eye tracking software to follow producers' eye movements when looking at catalogues and which traits producers are utilizing when making decisions. We decided to added a bonus episode to the the Bull Stud and Semen Marketing Series.  We are excited to share our conversation with Steven Rogers, owner of Show Me Genetic Services in Stafford, MO.  Steven gives a very unique insights to the workings of a Semen Collection Facility.  He has a true heart for education and has a passion for helping his customers find success when collecting bulls.  On top of speaking about factors to help bulls succeed when collecting, Steven also discusses some of the interesting bulls he has had through the facility.  Take a listen!
